American Cafes in Florence, Italy

Mama's Bakery: They serve American coffee (1 euro for unlimited refills), awesome bagels, and sandwiches. It's a really large, cozy place, and is the closest to an authentic American coffee shop in Florence. Also, they speak English!

Cuculia: Very, very friendly place. Rows of books, tons of room to work. They are computer friendly. There are large tables in the back to spread out on, and tons of books you can check out before you buy. Although they don't serve United States Coffee, they do serve a ton of great loose-leaf teas, and have a great bar (peroni on tap!).

Edison bookstore: The closest thing Italy has to a Borders. This bookstore has a bunch of tables on the second floor, pay-per-use internet (2.50 euros an hour) and a small bar. You can sit and work all day (literally, they're open until midnight!) as there are an abundance of plugs. There isn't too much seating, and it fills up fast, so get there early.

Bar Anna (via dei Ginori): This cafe has tables in the back to work on, but no wifi.

Moyo: They have free internet if you buy something There are big tables inside where you can hang and work. The servers here are really friendly, and you should definitely come back at night for appertivo.

Gelateria Badiani: If you want to get out of the city center, this is the place to go. It's located on viale dei Mille. There are a bunch of tables, but no internet.
